Between May 20th and May 24th, I made an effort to stop pushing myself too hard.
I walked around the yard a couple of times each day in between rainstorms to get my walking in. It started raining in May 21 and rained on and off until May 24.
Here are some pictures I took.

The butterfly may be a spicebush swallowtail. I was not able to get a clear enough view to tell. The spicebush and pipevine swallowtails are very similar. The pipeline swallowtails are toxic while the spicebush swallowtails are harmless mimics.

We did have sunshine break through the clouds between thunderstorms, rain showers, and drizzle with fog.
We didn’t have any nice sunsets during the rainy time.
Congratulations on finally taking it easy a little bit! It looks like the homestead is doing well even though you rested. 😄

Yes, all that rain has really helped the garden grow and allowed me to rest without feeling the need to do anything. 😁

We got 20 min today. Maybe enough to soften the ground so I can pull weeds?

Maybe? 🤔 If you try to pull weeds, be careful and don’t hurt yourself.

I can’t seem to do that anymore! 😂

Isn’t nature funny that one butterfly is toxic and the other a harmless mimic? I know the harmless mimic is protected by looking like the toxic one, but it’s just a puzzle to me!

I got a chuckle out of “sad rhubarb”! Everything is looking so good.

Thanks! I don’t know what has happened to my rhubarb. It was looking beautiful then bam! Wilted and dying. The fire ants didn’t help.

They are probably as toxic to plants as they are to other things!

I do love me the smell of a Saturn peach on a hot day. Mmmmmm.
