What, How Is It Wednesday Already?

March 25, 2026

On Monday (March 23), I went to an appointment with my neurologist. My palsy or shaking is getting worse. I am having more trouble with fine motor control. This is affecting my ability to draw. I can no longer hold a mug one-handed without shaking. Holding other things can also trigger the shaking. The neurologist asked a lot of questions and discussed three treatment options. After talking it over with him, we decided on a treatment option. I hope it works.

We didn’t do much in the garden. Bruce spotted an asparagus spear poking up.

Asparagus!

Here are the rows of radishes. You can sorta see them on the right side.

Radishes

Bruce did some mowing while I pulled weeds.

On Tuesday (March 24), the crescent moon was visible in the blue sky with white wispy clouds.

The row of peas is getting taller.

I moved the Bama Dirt pro mix into two beds. That was a lot of work. Bruce enjoyed sitting on the mower and racing around the yard, cutting grass.

Filled Bed

After a break and hydration, I headed back out to move the strawberries to another bed.

I had ten strawberries left over, so I decided to plant them at the base of two of the peach trees.

While heading back to the barn, I saw a lighter colored violet.

Taking a picture of the violet made me pause. I saw Bruce enjoying cutting down trees and privet from the fence line.

I also noticed Pine Tree 1’s stump. Since I had a shovel with me, I decided to dig around the stump. Bruce had started digging a shallow trench about two feet long and the width of the shovel.

My trench was much longer and deeper.

The trenching was a lot of work. Bruce and I quit about the same time. He was impressed with the trench work and was happy that it would be easier to remove the big roots. I admired his polesaw work.

We went in and had supper.

Today, March 23 (Wednesday), Bruce had his yearly physical. He had gained ten pounds since last year. He believes he gained them in the last three months. I tend to agree, he has been eating way more than he should lately.

Bruce made a list of things to discuss with his doctor and he got more out of his visit.

After Bruce’s doctor visit, we stopped at Walmart to pick up my new prescription.

Bruce had been discussing cleaning out the gutters for a while. He felt the weather was perfect for the job. Bruce climbed onto the roof and blew out the gutters first. He had me hand up the water hose. I used a forked tree branch to lift the hose nozzle up to him. Bruce used the water hose to clear out the three clogged downspouts.

I pulled weeds in the front garden while Bruce was on the roof.

We’ve been debating getting a tractor. After the gutters were cleared, we spent some time looking at used tractors. Bruce wants one with a backhoe and used ones don’t seem to be common.

What can I say, but Farmer Bruce wants all the toys!
