Happy Halloween!
On Thursday (October 23), Bruce and I had a meeting in Huntsville, AL. After our meeting, we visited the Huntsville Botanical Garden.
When we lived in the Huntsville area, over 30 years ago, the gardens had just started. They had big plans. It is thrilling to see how those plans have been realized.
I loved the blue bottle tree with the elephant ears growing under it!

Several paths were decorated for fall and Halloween. Local businesses had created the displays. Here are my favorites.

I was delighted by the train garden! I am not sure why they have dinosaurs in the train garden. It did make me laugh.

The Damson Aquatic Garden is lovely with water lilies and water jets.

We rambled through the garden.

As we walked on the path through the wooded garden, Mama Zelda came into view! Her hair is a maze that surrounds her.

Bruce is standing by Mama Zelda. For scale, Bruce is 5’5”.
The Huntsville Botanical Garden has become a magical place.
We ate a late lunch at Viet Cuisine. The food and service were excellent. We are delighted to have found such a great Vietnamese restaurant.
After our late lunch, we headed home.
The red pineapple was ready for its photo shoot.

Mama Zelda is beyond awesome!!!!!!!

She is! It was really fun wandering around the maze and seeing the shortcuts (small tunnels for children) in the maze. I like seeing all the different materials they used to make her hair!

I enjoyed going through the botanical gardens with you. I particularly enjoyed the train, since that would have been the thing that interested John the most.

I thought of you as I watched the train chug past. There were several small children watching the train with great excitement.

What a beautiful place! We have a series of 5 or 6 of the giant trolls by the same artist about 20 miles from our house.

How neat! We kept planning to go see the one in the mountains of Colorado and just didn’t get to it.

That is beautiful! Did you get any Trick or treaters where you live? We had about 40 this year. Good turnout! Good kids and great parents. It was nice to see new people out and about in our neighborhood.

No, we don’t get any trick-or-treaters out here. I miss getting them.

Their is lots to do in North Alabama. It has some beautiful state parks and caves. The local parks are also very pretty.

I do love the trolls! Wish I’d had more time this current trip to seek out such treasures.

This was the first one I saw in person. She is magnificent. I wish we had made an effort to seek more of them out.
