October 9 (Thursday) was a catch-up on housework day. Laundry desperately needed to be done. We go through two changes of clothes while working in the yard. While I was busy with housework, Bruce was out mowing.
In the late afternoon, I walked around the yard. The red pineapple caught my eye. In taking the close-up picture, I saw a blue bud!

Bruce took a ride to our local Ace to look for an e-clip. While adjusting the chainsaw blade, the e-clip came loose and was lost in the yard. The chainsaw bar needed the e-clip to remain attached to the chainsaw.

Unfortunately, the local Ace didn’t have e-clips.
The cantaloupe vine is sprawling over the ground. It even has small cantaloupes. I don’t think we’ll get cantaloupes before the frost hits.

I trimmed back the blackberry canes so I would be able to get to the flagged daffodil bulbs.
You can see where Bruce mowed and the flags in the tall grass, no longer under the blackberry canes.

I took a picture of the sunset as we walked to the mailbox to see if we had any mail and to retrieve the garage can.

A day in the life of Julia! I felt like I was right there with you. Is there any way you could use a magnet to search for that e-clip?

Bruce has no idea where he lost it. He was able to get a set of e-clips at the auto store.

Wonderful!! We need to get one that will start. Those things can be so contrary. I have a feeling our next one will be battery powered. I have “Jaws” and it works really well. If you aren’t familiar with that, I will post it when I get time. Great saw for women.

We have an electric Greenworks saw that works really well. I’ve used it and find it works great.

I have some Greenworks products too. They all work really well.

We love our Greenworks Zero Turn mower. It is a workhorse. I’ve been impressed by the chainsaw. I love how quiet the electric products are.

I have a push lawn mower and a leaf blower! I wouldn’t dream of going back to using anything gasoline powered.

We wanted to get an electric chipper, but couldn’t find one. The difference is striking between the electric tools and the gas powered one.

I bought a corded electric chipper, but didn’t like it. It was a cheap one and the chips were just a mess of long shreds of wood. It was not suitable at all for mulch. I would love to have a good one.

We needed a chipper that could handle at least 4-inch branches. We thought about getting one that could handle bigger branches, but the cost was just too much. I am impressed by the quality of the chips we get, but the chipper is an absolute bear to start.

That’s why I went with electric. My garden buddy here in real life had a gasoline powered one. I’m glad you get a satisfactory product from yours. I’m thinking about getting another one.
