Preying Mantis in the Front Yard

On September 15 (Monday), instead of working in the yard, I spent most of day inside cleaning. Bruce was outside doing some mowing underneath the pine trees, when he noticed this female praying mantis. She blends right in with the lichen on the pine trees.

After taking pictures of the praying mantis, I took some before pictures of the planned flower beds.

Since I was outside, I walked to the back pasture to see how the fruit trees are doing.

I admired the beauty of the goldenrods in amongst the blackberries.

Then, I went back inside and resumed cleaning.

A little later, Bruce came in and got cleaned up. We went out to run some errands.

On the way home, we stopped at Rick’s Farm Market. I loved the wild squashes, gourds, and pumpkins out front!
