Pictures of the Jekyll Island, GA Beach

August 28, 2025

Updated on August 29, 2025, to correct the name of the bar from The Beach Pavilion to The Sand Bar

We’ve taken a walk down to the beach twice since we’ve been on Jekyll Island, GA.

I love seeing the sea oats, various birds, seashells, and waves. It is fun to try and spot the lighthouse on St. Simons Island from the Jekyll Island beach.

During our second walk to the beach, we left the beach from an access point near The Sand Bar. We decided to stop at The Sand Bar for drinks and to enjoy the dune and ocean views.

The scenery was beautiful.

After finishing our drinks, we continued our walk along Ocean View Trail. I spotted this beautiful Gulf Fritillary along the trail. There were several dazzles of dragonflies hovering and darting.

We turned off the trail onto the sidewalk. We walked down the sidewalk to get back to my father-in-law’s house.

    1. It is a wonderful place to walk on the beach, enjoy the small waves, watch the various birds, and enjoy the cool ocean breezes. The rest of the island is beautiful with live oaks draped with Spanish moss. It is very relaxing to the mind.
