On Thursday(August 21), Bruce and I got up and took advantage of the cooler morning temperatures to move some Bama Dirt into the new garden bed. Shoveling wet dirt is hard work!
As the temperatures climbed and we got tired, hot, and sweaty, we decided it was time to get cleaned up. After our showers, we talked about getting something to eat out. We decided to head over to the Box Car in Sheffield, AL. The food is good diner food. I love all the train memorabilia on the walls. I did an earlier post on the Box Car restaurant.
While walking back to the truck, I stopped to take a picture of the historic marker about Sheffield.

After we got home, Bruce and I walked down to the mailbox. On the way back to the house, I spotted these caterpillars on a sweet gum tree along the fence.

Based on my research, these are an early stage Red-humped Caterpillar moth caterpillars.
I wanted to share a picture of the broken plastic bit that cause the major mirror malfunction.

Bruce did some mowing in the afternoon.
We had another beautiful sunset.

Will the caterpillars damage things?
Are you looking into (ha ha) replacing the mirror, or are you waiting to deal with that later?

Yes, 😭! I am letting it go as we have more important things going on.
I really liked having a large mirror, but we won’t replace it with another large mirror. That bathroom needs a full overhaul anyway. Maybe I’ll put a mirror on the back of the bedroom door.

Knowing how creative you are, your remodeled bathroom is going to be the envy of the state!

Thank you! That was quite amusing! We’ve remodeled three bathrooms in Colorado, and I can’t say any of them were the envy of the state!
