On Tuesday, August 19, I took pictures of the garden featuring basil, mint, and various insects.

Bruce was getting the mower, garden rake, and shovels while I was taking pictures. Bruce and I moved dirt into the new garden bed. It was hot and sweaty work.

After a couple of cartloads of dirt, we took a break and went inside to cool off.
While we were cooling off from the heat, Bruce and I heard a loud thump then shattering glass. We looked at each other and said simultaneously, āWhat was that?!ā
It’s funny; both of us were afraid that our new piece of art had fallen.
We rushed out to see what had happened! There was broken glass in the hallway!

The large bathroom mirror came loose and fell!

It was a relief it was just the bathroom mirror and not the new beautiful artwork falling and breaking the glass art lamp shade.
I found some boxes to put the glass shards in and got the vacuum cleaner. I fetched the broom and dustpan to help clean up the mess.
Bruce did most of the cleanup. There wasn’t room for both of us in the bathroom together.

Those large mirror shards all fit into one box! We were surprised! We both thought it would take several boxes.
After Bruce got all the broken glass that he could, I vacuumed and mopped. We wanted to make sure we didn’t have any small slivers of glass left behind. The idea of Nox getting glass in her footpad was upsetting.

We put the box of broken glass into a contractor’s garage bag.
After the bathroom was cleaned up, Bruce looked at the mirror location to discover what had happened.
The old plastic brace holding the mirror on the right side broke. The mirror fell forward, knocking over items on the counter and hitting the floor.
I told Bruce that I was surprised the mirror fell in the house. I wouldn’t have been surprised if something similar had happened on a move while we were RVing.
The bathroom is a lot darker without the large mirror.
We are still relieved it wasn’t our new artwork.
We went back outside in the heat and moved another cart of dirt into the garden bed. Bruce finished adding a layer of the bagged dirt. That was enough outside work for the day. We were so hot and sweaty. Bruce and I were happy to hop into the shower and get cleaned up.
The day ended with a beautiful sunset.

Glad it wasn’t the artwork! And Nox is okay, too. Beautiful sunset pictures!

We are heading down to Jekyll Island to help out my father-in-law while he recovers from his shoulder surgery. Weāll be there for two weeks and then my sister-in-law will take over.

just reread, you did hear it! Disconcerting. Kind of like a water busting which is why if we go on a day trip or longer, turn off the water.

We are going to turn off the water to the house. I don’t want to worry about water leaks or pipes bursting! While Rving, we were walking Nox and saw an RV with water pouring out the bottom. Now, we don’t go anywhere for longer than a day without turning off the water!
