And the Chipper Won’t Start

June 19, 2025

On June 6 (Friday), we had sunny skies in the evening. Perfect to try out the new chipper, or so we mistakenly thought.

With a new small gas can full of gas, Bruce poured gasoline into the chipper. Then the “fun” began. The chipper wouldn’t start, no matter how many times Bruce pulled the cord. I looked at the chipper and noticed the emergency cut off had somehow been pushed in. I turned the knob and it popped out, turning off the emergency cutoff.

We were sure that was the problem. Nope, it wasn’t. Bruce decided to see the chipper spark plug was sparking. No, it wasn’t.

Bruce gave up troubleshooting and sent an email to the support email. Now, it was a matter of waiting.

We didn’t hear back from them until Monday. Bruce read the response and was frustrated. They didn’t even read his email, just sent the standard, “Try these things.” Bruce responded with some questions and the first tier support kicked it up to the next level. Now he was communicating with someone who was actually paying attention. It has been a week and four days since he got the first response. They are exchanging emails as Bruce tries things.

There were a couple of times Bruce thought the chipper was starting to run, but it didn’t quite happen.

The company support person offered to find a clutch kit to help make it easier to start the chipper.

Wish Bruce luck! I want the beast to start, but Bruce is the one trying to get it to roar!
