I asked my blog friend Meg from yarnsfromthelake.com if she would like to see the Irish blanket unfolded.
Since she said yes, I took some pictures of it unfolded.

I thought I had remembered it being handwoven.
Meg, I hope I got the title right (Fiber Crafter). I was wasn’t sure if you were a Fiber Crafter, Fiber Artist or something else. I’ll update the title if you have another title you prefer.
Update on March 16: After a comment from another friend, I know Meg is a Fiber Artist.
Such lovely, subtle colors!

I fell in love with it. It survived the purge when we went RVing.

The blanket is so beautiful. The business has been operating since 1723! Mill tours are offered. I would love that. Fiber crafter is an acceptable title, I do not know what to call myself. I am not exactly an artist. I think Fiber Artist is used more for people who are doing more freeform creative projects, where I focus on more practical projects. You can check out the website for Avoca Mill here https://www.avoca.com/en/our-mill.

I am glad I got the title right.
I wish I had known tours were offered when we were there. I would’ve loved to have seen the mill.

Do you work to perfect your fiberwork? Do you give thought to choosing design, color, structure, materials, etc. to be appropriate for the finished product? If so, you are an artist. Beth, a member of Fiber Arts of Vermont and creator of practical things

WordPress is clearly at it again! I hit the “reply” button under Meg’s comment, and while I certainly don’t mind my comment being widely read, it was directed at her, and I hope she saw it!

Oh, WordPress is sending your comments spam again. Why, I have no idea!
