My father-in-law came through the surgery to put in a drain to relieve pressure just fine. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to preform the second surgery to check to see if he was still bleeding. They started the surgery and discovered he had twisted arteries. Proceeding with the surgery had an unacceptable risk of a stoke, so the surgeon decided not to proceed.
The doctor believes the bleeding may have stopped on its own. They are leaving the drain in so they can determine if he is still bleeding.
My FIL is doing better. They have been giving him test since he got to the hospital. He is now able to answer the questions better and is remembering more information. (Before, he couldn’t remember when his birthday was.)
He doesn’t want to stay in bed and keeps trying to get up.
My sister-in-law being there seems to have helped.
Please continue to keep us in your thoughts. My FIL is going to have a long road to recovery, but we do believe he is going to recover.
Marvelous news!
