Update on My Father-in-Law’s Recovery

On Friday (November 22), Bruce took his father to physical therapy. After PT, they went to lunch.

Later on Friday, Bruce took his dad to his 4:00 PM doctor’s appointment. This was the follow up to see how his dad was progressing after PT and to check healing was on track.

The doctor was pleased. The X-rays looked good, the surgical site looked good and the poking and prodding yielded the correct results.

Bruce’s dad was told he could drive again. The doctor suggested the my father-in-law take the return to driving slowly. The doctor also gave my father-in-law permission to bend more than 90 degrees. “You can resume full range of movement.”

The doctor wants my father-in-law to continue with PT a bit longer and wrote out a new prescription for additional PT.

Bruce says since his dad has focused on using his leg and not leaning on the walker, his dad is getting around much better.

On Saturday, my father-in-law was able to put his shoes on by himself the first time since his surgery.

Bruce’s oldest sister arrived today to stay with my father-in-law. She is able to work from home, so she’ll be working most of the time.

Bruce is coming home on Tuesday!!!!

I know Bruce needed to be there to help out, but I am so glad he is coming home.

I am grateful my sister-in-law could come and stay for the last bit my father-in-law needs help.

It seems like one thing after another has gone wrong here, the drains, the roof, the dryer electrical outlets and trying to get our titles from Florida.

The moving scammers put a dent in my confidence for dealing with things. I am slowly starting to bounce back from that, but the it has been harder than I expected.

  1. When it rains it pours, and when you move….well, it’s a deluge. 😆. In a short while, though, you will feel so much stronger for having dealt with all you have. Plus, there is the excellent news that your FIL is almost better and that Bruce is coming home!!

    1. I am just so glad we got our money back. Nox will be thrilled to see her Bruce. She misses him. I put him on speaker phone and she sniffs the phone and decides he isn’t in that funny device.
