On Sunday (September 8), we walked along the Tennessee River in McFarland Park (in Florence, AL) towards the marina.

As we got closer to the marina, we saw something that looked like a building on the water. I guessed it was a river boat. I forget what Bruce guessed since he was wrong.
It was the American Splendor, a paddlewheel boat for river cruises. We saw this same paddlewheel boat in Vicksburg, MS.

The American Splendor pulled up to the parking lot and let the passengers off so they could board buses to take tours of the area.
We were surprised, as we thought the paddle boats only traveled the Mississippi River. It was fun to see it on the Tennessee River.
Later in the day, we watched the American Splendor head upstream, towards the locks at the Wilson Dam.
The smoke stocks were lowered and the paddle wheel seemed to turn freely, as she headed upstream.
Julia, Thanks for another good tour. The photos are great! Love, Howard
