After our second visit to the Colorado School of Mines Museum of Earth Science, we walked to Washington Ave, which is the main street of Golden.
On the way, we passed the old armory. The rock tower on South Table Mesa lined up with the armory making it appear the old armory building had two towers.

I was able to get a good picture of the Welcome to Golden arch.

We stopped in at El Callejon, which has delicious pupusas and arepas. I enjoyed a juice drink along with my super arepa and a pupusas. Bruce had a tamale that he enjoyed. I can’t remember what else he had.

El Callejon is a small restaurant with just a few tables inside. They do have a couple of tables outside as well.
We walked past the Buffalo Rose Restaurant, which is a very old restaurant; it dates back 1858. They have great bison burgers and local trout.
We ate at the Buffalo Rose on another trip to Golden.

We walked back to the motorcycle and rode back to the RV.
There was a lovely sunset in the evening as we walked Nox.

Julia, Since I had no idea what these were, I Googled them. It sounds like there are many versions, incuding Venezuela and Columbia. Recipes are quite varied with prep time ranging from 6 minutes to an hour! Love, Howard

What a coincidence – we ate Mexican food yesterday, in Wisconsin!?!? I had a shrimp enchilada; my friend had a not-on-the-menu custom made vegetarian something. Definitely family made by Mexican immigrants.

I’ve noticed more places have great Mexican restaurants.

I’ll have to check out El Callejon the next time we’re in Boulder. Our son graduated from School of Mines a few years ago, and we haven’t returned since, even though we pass it frequently. Just yesterday, even.

We were in downtown Golden yesterday as well. We stopped in to visit friends who had moved from Dakota Ridge RV Park to the Clear Creek RV Park.
