On July 8 (Monday), we headed into Golden, a little after 3:00 PM to see the Colorado School of Mines Museum of Earth Science. Finding parking was a PITA. We finally found parking and walked to the museum. Just so you know, there is paid parking behind the museum that was empty. It would have saved us a lot of hassle if we had known.
Getting to the museum late meant we only got to see the first floor. The museum closes at 4:00 PM. As we headed downstairs to the basement level, we were told the museum was closed.
We plan to go back and see the basement level.
There is some interesting information on mines.

The minerals were beautifully displayed and so eye catching. I took so many pictures, but I am going to only share my best pictures.

If you’re in Golden, it is definitely worth stopping in to see the museum. The museum is free, even if the parking isn’t.
I am sharing the link to the museum if you want to find out more information: https://www.mines.edu/museumofearthscience/
I did not see the moon rock, so if I don’t see it when we go back, I am going to ask where it is.
I was sure “The Legend” was from Superman’s Fortress of Solitude!

Love the yellow “Septarian nodule” – I would have called it a geode, but what do I know?!?

I would’ve called it a geode as well. The minerals they have dazzle the eyes.
