On Saturday (October 28), Bruce and I rode to the South Carolina Railroad Museum. I was very excited to get to ride the train.

As soon as we got there, we got tickets for the last ride of the day to the pumpkin patch. It was also the last ride of the year to the pumpkin patch.
The railroad museum has a field at the end of their line that they use for setting up events.
The Pumpkin Patch ride is mostly for small children. We saw many families having a great time.
We were given a coach ticket by a kind lady while we were waiting in the ticket line. One of her party wasn’t able to make it. Bruce bought another coach ticket.
He headed off to the restroom while I waited in line.

It took 45 minutes to get to the Pumpkin Patch and we got to spend 45 minutes there.
They had someone serving BBQ which smelled wonderful, but we had already eaten. So no BBQ for us. We did buy two Hawaiian Shaved Ices, as we were thirsty.
It was a beautiful sunny day. I enjoyed watching the kids play and taking pictures of the of the train. Best of all, I was thrilled to realize the caboose was from the Nickel Plate Railroad from Ohio.

There was face painting and I got a dragonfly painted on one cheek. I had never had a face painting before, but since it was free, I decided to try it. Pumpkin decorating was also an activity. Stickers were placed on the small pumpkins from the pumpkin patch to make fun or scary faces.
After 45 minutes, the engineer blew the train whistle to let us know it was time to go.
We boarded the train and got our tickets punched. The train started up and we rumbled our way back to the railroad museum.

We got off the train and decided to look at the exhibits. In another post, I’ll show some of the exhibits.
Thanks for sharing this idea. Anita
