Eating in Ridgeway, South Carolina at the Olde Town Hall Restaurant and Pub

October 30, 2023

One evening, we rode into historic downtown Ridgeway and ate dinner at the Olde Town Hall Restaurant and Pub.

We ordered a couple of the specials. Bruce enjoyed his fish very much. It was perfectly cooked, as well as everything else on his plate. I can remember he had asparagus, but not what other items were on his plate.

I wish I could say the same about the scallops I ordered. The plate was gorgeous. The scallops were each on a dollop of onion bacon jam. The scallops were placed along the edge of the plate. The onion bacon jam was delicious. The risotto in the center of the plate was good and the asparagus on top of the risotto was cooked perfectly. The micro greens sprinkled on top of asparagus were lovely.

The scallops were overcooked and tough. They weren’t sautéd as I expected, and seemed a bit tasteless. I did consider sending them back to the kitchen, but since I wasn’t certain they would come out any better, I didn’t.

We did have dessert. I had a lovely blueberry lemon cheesecake slice and Bruce had the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse. Delicious!

Afterwards, we walked around town for a little bit and wondered about the “Pig on the Ridge” signs.

We agreed to come back another day during the day to see more of the town. It is a small town.
