While we were at Fort Chiswell RV Park, we went to Wytheville, VA several times.
It is a walk friendly town in the Historic Downtown, with a walking trail connecting two parks.

One outing, we stopped in at Skeeter’s for lunch. We were disappointed with the hotdogs, but the toppings on the hotdogs were great. The chili cheese fries were delicious.

The town has several public parking lots as well as lots of street parking.
There is also a permanent building for the Farmers’ Market on Saturday. The first time we went, the market was closing down. The second time we went was much earlier and it was very lively.

We enjoyed our visits to Wytheville. We stopped in at a few museums, which I will post about separately.
Another interesting place! I love the Theatre.

It is beautiful spot and they have several self guided walking tours. We really enjoyed staying here, so much so I looked into the weather to see if I could stand the winter.

Okay, I had to laugh at the last comment! I enjoyed our time in Virginia, too.

Ha! I love the skeletons climbing up the building! (So what was the verdict on the winters? Is it worth it?)

No, I don’t want to deal with snow and they do get a bit. Snow was supposed to be flying on Sunday. I am glad we left on Friday.

Isn’t VA still considered the south? You surely wouldn’t get much if you did! (I am trying to lure you to the dark side of sedentary living. Mwahaha)

Haha! Yes, it is still considered the South, but mountains! Wytheville is a lovely town, with a nice mix of small businesses and chains. I was thinking how nice it was, but I just don’t want to deal with snow. Bruce thought it sounded just fine, but he grew up in Michigan.

Ach, I can see why he likes traveling. MI winters are pretty tough!

So he says. He has lots of winter stories about waiting for the school bus, sledding, cross country skiing, and just generally being cold.
