Flowers and Animals at the Fort Chiswell RV Park in Virginia

October 9, 2023

When we first arrived at the Fort Chiswell RV Park, (September 22) the golden rods were blooming among the blue and white asters next to the creek.

It was a beautiful sight, so beautiful, we wondered if it was a planned garden or just random wildflowers.

We’ve notice a lot of wildlife at the park. I saw a groundhog and Bruce saw a badger. We’ve seen deer and lots of butterflies. We’ve also experienced a stink bug invasion. Anytime the door is open, in comes one or two stink bugs.

Of course the cows and sheep are interesting to watch, just ask Nox.

  1. Pretty pretty flowers and I do love a groundhog sighting. But stinkbugs! Say no more. I must smack (with a broken flipflop) a dozen or so every single day. At least it’s not as bad as one year when dozens of them were clinging on the walls outside. They are loathesome, pyoo!

    1. They are loathsome! The stinky things are such an annoying pest. The weather has cooled off significantly so we are no longer having them flying inside of our RV. We still have one that keeps getting away. We hear it at night.
