We are heading to the Forest River Owner’s Group (FROG) Rally in Goshen, Indiana in August. We’ve got some time before we need to be there, so we are taking it slow across the Great Plains.
We left Golden, CO on I-70, heading east. In Wheat Ridge, Colorado, we took the I-76 exit and headed northeast. We had left the Front Range and entered the Great Plains.

We crossed into Nebraska on I-76, then I-76 ended onto I-80.

Bruce drove the rig along I-80 and we made another rest stop in Nebraska. The rest stop was new and was very clean.

I enjoy seeing the working American Standard Windmills as we drive along the interstates.

We arrived safely at the I-80 Lakeside Campground.

I will be writing another post on the campground.
Safe travels. 🙂

We enjoyed getting together and catching up with you. If you like trains, North Platte has some very cool train stuff. See later posts for details! 🙂

Ah, memories! I had the Roadtrek with several passengers, one of whom was asleep on the bed in back (he’d been up all night shepherding a group of teens the last night of our conference). We stopped at that last I-76 rest area before Nebraska, and the rest of us went and used the facilities and stretched our legs; he just grunted. I was circling around to leave, and he sat up and asked me to stop at the next rest area – so I went back in to where we’d just left. He was impressed that I found one so quickly, and that no one else needed to go in…

“Nebraska…Home of Arbor Day!” For some reason that cracks me up. Surely there’s a more auspicious or impressive claim to fame for NE.

It cracked us up as well. Bruce said, “I hope they have more going for them than coming up with Arbor Day.”
