I am a retired software solutions architect. I have been married to my husband, Bruce, for over forty years. We went full-time RVing for 3.5 years and saw much of the United States. We bought a ranch house on a hill in the middle of five acres. We are working on creating our homestead. I love cooking and enjoy sharing recipes. I am also an artist and I’ll share my current projects. Reading is my favorite hobby.

Heading to Candy Hill Campground, VA

October 4, 2023 As we only had four nights at French Creek State Park, PA, on September 15 (Friday), we finished packing up and hitching up with a small incident. In hitching, Bruce backed the truck up to to the pin and he was finding it hard to get aligned. So he asked me to […]

Hiking in French Creek State Park, PA

October 3, 2023 While we spent most of time in Pennsylvania visiting with family, on Thursday (September 15), we did an afternoon hike by one of the lakes, Hopewell Lake, in the French Creek State Park. I loaded Nox into the truck and Bruce drove us to the lake. It was a beautiful day use […]

French Creek State Park Campground in Pennsylvania

October 3, 2023 We were only able to get four nights at the French Creek State Park Campground. They are a busy campground, especially on the weekends. While we were out walking Nox, we found the campground host and asked how long in advance do you have sign up for two weeks. The answer was […]

Adding the Pennsylvania Sticker to the Map

October 3, 2023 During the evening of September 13 (Wednesday) at French Creek State Park, we add the Pennsylvania state stickers to our maps. Bruce added the state sticker to the map on the slide and I added the state sticker to the map on the freezer drawer.

Heading to French Creek State Park, PA

October 2, 2023 We left Doolittle Station on September 11 (Monday), heading back onto I-80 east. Most of the route was along I-80 east, but at some point our GPS took us along some backroads to French Creek State Park. Once we arrived at French Creek State Park, I got out to see if there […]

On to Doolittle Station in DuBois, PA

On September 10th (Sunday), we completed the packing up and hitching up and rolled out of Gotta Getaway RV Park. We headed up Ohio 4 to I-90 east and then to I-80 east. We pulled into Doolittle Station and checked in with the Harvest Host, Boxcar Brew Works. We did minimum set up of the […]

Miller’s Drive-In in Bellevue, Ohio

October 1, 2023 On September 9, we spent a good bit of time packing up the RV to head out the next morning. When it got to be supper time, I didn’t feel like cooking anything and cleaning up again. I had wanted to try Miller’s Drive-In, as it was top rated (in Google Maps). […]

A Trip to Huron, Ohio to the Beach and Lighthouse

October 1, 2023 On September 8, we headed north to Sandusky to see Lake Erie. We reached Ohio 2, just south of Sandusky and turned east to Huron. The soybean fields we passed were turning yellow. We stopped in at the Nickel Plate Beach. It was empty except for us and the gulls. While I […]

Evening in Gotta Getaway RV Park in Bellevue, Ohio

October 1, 2023 After the crazy Labor Day weekend, it was a relief to have the campground back to its normal quiet. During the Labor Day weekend, the campground was completely full and they had all sorts of activities. There was a live DJ by the pool, two large bouncy castles, a corn hole tournament, […]

Historic Lyme Village Outside of Bellevue, Ohio – Part 2

September 28, 2023 We toured Cooper General Store and got to see a demo of a bottle capper. We were very familiar with bottle cappers since we had one when Bruce bottled his home brew beer. The old cash register still worked. It would allow for cash as well as purchasing on account. Schug Hardware […]
